Selma was released in select theaters this past week and will be officially released everywhere on Friday January 9th. The Ava DuVernay directed film is based on the epic march in Selma, Alabama in 1965, which changed the dynamics of the voting rights act which was not yet equally opportune for African Americans at the time.
Martin Luther King Jr. played by David Oyelowo ventured on a journey to secure an equal voting rights for the black people in Selma, Alabama.
