Hebru Brantley is a contemporary artist inspired by his Chicago upbringings and its powerful culture. Breaking down cultural boundaries, Brantley uses his paint brushes to create his depictions of the black hero. With his unique images of young black characters, Brantley seeks to create a more positive image of the urban crusader by painting them as he views people of color, ambitious and magical.
Brantley uniquely uses various mediums from oil, acrylic and watercolor to non-traditional mediums like coffee and tea. Brantley has been recognized in his hometown of Chicago for his impactful work. He has also exhibited his work in other cities including London, Switzerland, San Francisco, Atlanta, Miami, Seattle, Los Angeles, and at renowned art events including New York including Art Basel Switzerland, Art Basel Miami, Scope NYC and Frieze London.
