Just when you thought black girls couldn’t get any more magical, Elmont High School graduate, Augusta Uwamanzu-Nna gives us major #educationgoals by being accepted to all 8 Ivy League schools.
During the last week of March, Augusta was speechless when she received acceptance letters to all 8 Ivies. Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Princeton, Cornell, Dartmouth, Brown, University of Pennsylvania—have offered Augusta places in their freshman class. In addition to the Ivies, Augusta was also offered competitive packages from a few other prestigious institutions including Johns Hopkins University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, New York University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Augusta owes her accomplishment to her perseverance and her support system, which includes her family and close friends who have stuck by her through it all. Coming from an educational background, it was important for Augusta to excel academically. Her parents are both college educated as well as her older brother.
Today, we commend Augusta for being fearless, confident and the epitome of a PYNK girl. She is an inspiration to women of all ages, proving that hard-work and dedication truly pays off.
Augusta has not made a decision yet, but we are looking forward to seeing what institution she chooses after her visits this month.
