Gospel singer and reality star Erica Campbell covers the latest issue of Rolling Out magazine. She continues to promote her solo project, which is still making waves on major gospel radio shows. Campbell admits the transition from being apart of the duo Mary Mary, to go solo had its challenges. The insightful feature reviews the new journey of her career. As a solo artist Campbell accepts her non-stop rigorous schedule, she said “As long as the people get good music and the message, then I’m doing my job.” She recalled the story of an atheist who got saved after listening to her music. That was confirmation from God she’s on the right track in fulfilling her purpose. Despite the critics calling her new single “I luh God” trap gospel, Campbell acknowledged people are going to have their own opinion that will not always be positive. She said: “People are calling it ‘trap gospel’, but I really don’t know what trap music is, my husband created a hot track, and I just did what I felt.” Campbell continues to top the charts, while fans are inspired by her out of the box style.
