Jai Nice recently celebrated the 4th Anniversary of Kloset Envy and the announcement of her new brand “Noir Collection.” This entrepreneur/fashionista means business and in 2015, she is prepared to work hard in order to accomplish her goals of being a successful businesswoman in the fashion industry. PYNK enjoyed girl talk with Jai to get to learn about her future plans and endeavors for her fashion empire. Continue reading to learn about Jai’s newest collection, how she describes her style, and how she separates Kloset Envy from the over-saturated online boutique industry.
Pynk: You’ve recently introduced your new brand the “Noir Collection.” Can you tell us more about it?
Jai Nice: It’s about being confident and being sexy. Sexy black dresses for holiday parties or events. A little bit different, but it still fits the everyday woman.
Pynk: I know it’s important to go into business with positive vibes. When did you realize Kloset Envy was a success?
Jai Nice: It’s a success, but it’s not where it needs to be. So I wouldn’t really look at it like oh my god Kloset Envy is so very successful. There’s a lot more work that needs to be done, and it’s nowhere near where I would like it to be, but I am happy for the things I accomplished so far.
Pynk: Who would you say Jai Nice is, and what does her style embody?
“My style is very different, very edgy. It’s just me that’s all. I can’t really describe it. It’s just who I am. That’s how I introduce myself without speaking. My fashion, the way that I look, my hair. It’s just me and my fashion and of course being a mother comes first.”
Pynk: Most people would call you a style chameleon. With all of your hairstyles.
Jai Nice: Yea because I can have a hairstyle for four days, then the next day I’m like I’m so over this. I get bored. I will never be content even with work. I would love it for a week and then I’m like no, something can be different it can be better. Then the next day I’m over it. I get bored easily. I will never be content with what I’m doing. Even with work something can be better or different.
Pynk: How do you set yourself apart from the rest of e-boutiques?
Jai Nice: I just focus on making my customers happy and putting looks together. I’m not concerned about what other boutiques are doing and have. I’m just so focused on Kloset Envy and putting the looks together. It should look good together and for all different shapes and sizes of women. So there’s so much to do, you don’t have time to worry about other people or trying to be different. If your different it’s going to come naturally. If you have to try to be different, then it’s something you shouldn’t be doing.
Pynk: What is your biggest pet peeve in fashion?
Jai Nice: I am a stickler for how jeans look in boots. Like if someone has on a wide leg pants and tries to fit it in an ankle boot and it looks puffy. I hate when people have their shoe strings pulled so tight, that its curved in the front. I’m just like oh my god can I please fix your laces. I cringe every time I see that.
Jai Nice: My five fall must haves are. Black ankle boots, a scarf, fall hat, a nice duster, and a bomber jacket.
Pynk: Where do you draw inspiration from?
Jai Nice: I honestly don’t know where my inspiration comes from. It might be a little weird, but I don’t read magazines. I don’t read blog sites or Google for the trends. I’m never on the blog sites. I just do what comes naturally. I could be brushing my teeth or showering and looks just come to my head. I say oh my god this look would be so dope and I just hurry up and put it in my notes.
Pynk: What advice would you give to entrepreneurs?
Jai Nice: For getting into the fashion business, number one I would say be yourself and do you. Don’t do what everybody else is doing. Don’t jump on the bandwagon, because you see it’s a trend right now. If it’s for you it will be for you. You don’t have to try too hard. You don’t have to come out and be a hundred percent different. If you are creative it will naturally come out. Be consistent and don’t ever get content with whatever it is you’re doing. Every thing shall fall into place.
Pynk: What do you see in the future for Jai and your brand?
Jai Nice: I see me expanding and getting my company put out there more. Trying to help many more women with their fashion. That’s why I’m starting my YouTube channel, trying to connect more with my supporters. Helping young women to be confident. Figuring out what styles best fit their needs. Now fashion has changed, everyone is into fashion and it was like that before. I just want to make sure people can put a look together without looking tacky. Or wearing the right clothes to fit their body and doing it on a budget. That’s what I’m all about. You dont have to have thousands of dollars or a certain bag or shoe to look good. It’s all about styling and investing in good pieces that you can restyle.
Jai Nice is in her own lane. Doing what comes naturally with her talent. We are interested to see what is ahead for her. Continue to slay, queen.
