Happy birthday Mr. Shakur!
Tupac Amaru Shakur was wise beyond his years and became a Harlem and hip hop legend when he was only 25-years-old. Infamously known for his “Thug Life” tattoo, Tupac was an ambiguous soul with a certain aura about him that was undeniably genuine and genius. Being labeled as a “wild boy” in the recording studio and recognized for partying day and night, Tupac would then spit knowledge and let it be known that he was a lyrical mastermind and a revolutionary.
From being one of the poorest students in his East Harlem high school, to selling over 75 million records worldwide, the Death Row artist proves that he is truly the rose that grew from concrete and was a major contribution to the growth of underground hip hop culture. Almost two decades later, fans and people who knew Pac personally are still mourning his death and reminiscing on the influential methods of rap and spiritual philosophy that he left behind. His legacy still lives on and for some of his core fans, he will literally never really die.
