Mary J. Blige’s “Share My World” Album Turns 17!

Can you believe it’s been 17 years since Mary J. Blige dropped Share My World in 1997?

Share My World was Mary’s third studio album and her first to open at number one on the US Billboard 200 album chart. It’s also her first album where she serves an executive producer, along with her then-manager, Steve Stoute. Her list of guest appearances included Nas, The LOX, George Benson, Roy Ayers and my two favorite tracks “It’s On” with R. Kelly and “I Can Love You” with Lil’ Kim. Mary ended up receiving a Grammy Award nomination for Best R&B Album in 1998 and the album is currently certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for excess of three million copies sold in the US.
