What was going through your mind when you first lost your job?
I instantly thought how was I going to be able to support my daughter and I.
How did you find the courage to something that you were passionate about rather than just looking for another paycheck?
Honestly, I was tired of looking for a 9-5 position since it clearly wasn’t working for me. So I prayed about pursuing the idea of becoming a lash tech & then took a leap out on faith.
How long did it take for your eyelash extension company to start getting consistent business?
For the first 3 months I just practiced and then I started coming to Nj in June 2014 to building my clientele. I started with about 2-3 clients a day and each month it’s been growing more and more ever since.
Do you see yourself staying in this business for the long run?
Yes, that’s why I enrolled into an Esthetics program. To #1 be able to provide more services and #2 think about expanding my business for the long haul.
What other field would you consider delving into?
Before the summer is over I’ll be offering brow waxing/tinting, facials, body wraps, and teeth whitening.
