This morning I was watching, Good Morning American, and of course when it comes to keeping in the fashion-know my ears are always raised. I’m all for whats hot, new an on trend! With that being said, they mentioned something about, renting clothes?! Huh? Renting clothes, I’ve heard about thrifting.. (I’m starting to get the hang of that) and now this. So it got me to googling ( I am the Google Queen) If you haven’t heard of Le Tote, it is a unique clothing subscription box. Deemed similar to the Netflix of fashion, and here’s why…you pay a monthly fee ($49), receive a set number of items (3 pieces of clothing, 2 accessories), wear them as long as you like, then send them back and wait for your next shipment. Fun, right!? That’s what I thought!! This is therapy for the compulsive shopper, for me not so much, I don’t shop a lot believe it or not! But, it’s perfect for the girl who loves to play with trends but doesn’t really want to commit..
After further investigation of how this works, here’s the 411…You can request as many totes as you want a month. You have the option to send them all back or purchase the items in the tote for a discounted price. Theoretically, the best way to get more for your dollar is to wear the clothes immediately when you receive each tote then promptly switch them out for new ones. And get this they offer free two-day shipping both ways. That way you get the maximum number of new pieces to wear each month.
Still not sold?! I will admit I thought this service was totally bazaar. Why in the world would anyone rent clothing? But as I revisited the idea, there are a lot of perks to this service.
1. You have fresh new pieces every month for $49. Way less than if you actually purchased some new items in store.
2. You get to try new trends and remain fashion forward at all times. With out committing to the trend.
3. You save so much closet space.
4. They handle all the dry cleaning just send the items back dirty and you’re next tote is on its way..
Where are they getting their clothes? Well Le Tote features great brands from stores like Shopbop, Anthropologie, Nordstrom, Piperlime and Lord & Taylor, and there is a good range of styles and price points. Plus they update their styles each month.
What do think #PynkGirls, would you try Le Tote or any other clothing subscription service?
