The first thing I do in the morning when I wake up is pray.

I eat a breakfast of coffee and cereal.

I never leave home without a good pair of shades.

When it comes to my audience, I love to make them laugh.

The most rewarding part of my business is doing what I love and hearing how my music helps others.

The most difficult part of my business is that it can be lonely and cutthroat. That saying, “everybody can’t come” is too real. You lose a lot of friends.

When things begin to overwhelm me I put on some jazz, I might cry for a little, talk to God and then call MK (my mother).

When it comes to business, I never like to leave things unsaid or undone.

What gets me through a business day is coffee, a good playlist, and random laughs with my girls.

When things seem not to go as planned I take a deep breath and find a happy hour.

A great day for me consists of a good workout, studio/writing session, and a savory meal with good company.

I usually end my day with some jazz, a glass of red wine, and catch up on shows I love (i.e. Insecure, and Claws)
I like to unwind by hanging out with my girlfriends.

My advice to women looking to start a business is to figure out what makes YOU different. What assets do you have that people would want to invest in? Tap into your resources and seek mentorship. Surround yourself with other like minded people, ideally women, who have their business models figured out.

I want other women to succeed because we run the world! I’m inspired by all women driven by their passions, and living in a digital age. We get to see so many women take the initiative to live out their dreams.

I want young women to know that everything that they are, in this moment, is enough. We don’t get enough positive reinforcement during the confusing stages of our lives. It’s ok not to have all the answers. You can be a masterpiece and under construction all at once. Be gentle with yourself and trust your instincts.

Every #PynkGirl should have these 5 things in her purse for the most successful business day:

  1. Lip gloss
  2. Notepad/pen
  3. Phone charger
  4. Hand sanitizer
  5. Headphones
