The Soul Train Awards air on Nov. 26th and we can’t wait to see it, not just for the nominated artists, but for the style and beauty that graces the screens.
African Pride is taking over the Style Stage at this year’s Soul Train Awards and the brand challenged singer and business woman, LeToya Luckett to recreate iconic Soul Train red carpet looks from four different eras: the 80s, 90s, early 00s and modern day. She worked with hairstylist, Tiffany Daugherty, to create the looks using KinkyCurlyYaki wigs.
The 80s was all about that Salt N’ Pepa asymmetrical bob.
For the 90s, Letoya paid homage to HERSELF with a classic crimped hair look she wore on the STA red carpet during her Destiny’s Child days.
For the early 00s, LeToya rocked the flipped hair look that Mary J Blige had ever auntie requesting in the beauty salon.
And for her modern day look, LeToya gave a nod to her own natural curls AND the natural hair movement.
“I’ve been a fan of African Pride for as long as I can remember,” LeToya shares with Pynk Magazine exclusively. “My three favorite African Pride products would have to be their growth sheen spray, the leave-in conditioner and the braid sheen spray. Because when your girl rocks braids, that’s the best thing to use.”
The Soul Train Awards airs this upcoming Sunday, November 26th at 8/7c.
