Yesterday, PYNK girls attended the Hyundai Hope On Wheels fundraiser event hosted by Rocsi Diaz at the Jacob Javits Center. Hope On Wheels is a non-profit organization—sponsored by Hyundai—committed to helping children fight cancer. The evening was filled with inspirational speeches and amazingly strong children—some survivors of cancer and others who are still fighting.
Every year, Hyundai awards two grants to organizations working hard to abolish cancer. The Hyundai Scholar Award is a $250,000 grant to support translational impact research for senior investigators. The Young Investigator Research Award is a $150,000 grant to support innovative research for young investigators. Together, both grants are aimed at expanding the knowledge base of the disease and improving the standards of care.
As the celebrity ambassador of Hyundai Hope On Wheels, it was only right that the night ended with a very special performance by singer, Melanie Fiona. The grammy-winning artist gathered children on stage to sing “Titanium” with her as they danced and jumped with joy.
