Last week (Nov 18), The Childrens League hosted an eventful evening in conjunction with Pynk Magazine for the launch of it’s new initiative to better the community in which we live in through mentorship and education. The Kids League is a non-profit organization channeled towards helping our youth developed habits that will give them creative, educated and engaged minds in the early stages of their childhood, so that they become inspired enough to work towards a better future for themselves and their communities.
Surayya Barbee is the founder of The Kids League with an lengthy resume of supporter her community and the local youth. Her entrepreneurial journey began in the fashion industry in 2000—14 years later, she landed a position as an associate producer at Apex Evolution Media and now she has founder her own non-profit—remarkable story from a remarkable woman. Throughout all of her professional endeavors Barbee has always managed to juggle her professional career as well as continuously giving back to her community through mentorship and many other youth organizations.
Tuesday nights event was filled with laughs, inspiration and a myraid of notable professional who generously donated to a great cause for our inner-city youth. The event was hosted by Angela Yee from The Breakfast Club. Check out some pictures from the event below.
