Recently, I received a phone call from one of my friends. I was so excited to speak to her, and wanted to tell her all about my adventurous weekend. Immediately, I began to go on and on like a chatterbox, giving her all the details. She’s usually very animated and fun to talk to, but today was different. Eager to get some feedback, I yelled “hello!”, but she just mumbled “I’m tired.” I wanted to say, ” Go to sleep!”, but her vibe let me know she was serious. I listened to her talk about the things she accomplished over the years. She had the house, a great career, she traveled often, and her love life was promising. Although, she had most of the things that should make her happy, she knew something was missing. I realized when she said, “I’m tired” what she really meant was “I’m empty”. My friend didn’t need sleep, she needed rest for her soul. No matter what she did, it was just a temporary fix without God. Material things or people couldn’t fill her ‘Empty Space.‘
All her success was admired, but it was time for more. I knew the only way she could find true fulfillment was by having a relationship with Jesus Christ. The bible says, those who hunger and thirst for righteousness shall be filled. Have you ever been hungry, ate something until you were full, but wasn’t satisfied? You still wanted something else. Well, that is probably how my friend felt. She was a woman of faith with great accomplishments, but didn’t have a relationship with God. She desired more and Christ had just what she needed. God wants to fill us all with love, peace, and joy. He gives wisdom, validation, and reveals purpose.
Last week I heard my Pastor say, something that was so profound. He said, “You don’t have to be perfect, to have a perfect seek.” That’s Dope! No matter what state you’re in, God wants a relationship with you. So, I encourage you to seek God like never before. No one can fill your ‘Empty Space’ like God! #PYNKinspiration
Psalm 16:11 You make known to me the path of life. You will fill me with your joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
