The second annual Diamond Ball for the Clara Lionel Foundation is set to happen Dec. 10, 2015. Earlier this morning, Rihanna posted an inspiring video message about her beloved foundation on her Instagram from the gala last year:
“Clara Lionel’s mission is to improve the quality of life, not just in Barbados, but globally. My team and I take this challenge very seriously and we have already accomplished so much that we’re proud of. And we cannot wait to take on more [challenges].”
The bad gal has been pretty busy these past couple of weeks. First, with the launch of her beauty agency, Fr8me and followed by her new stance sock collection, the release of the men’s “Creeper” Puma, and finally, the launch of her mobile app ANTIdiaRY.com. Most importantly, the platinum-selling rock star has not forgotten about her philanthropic duties to her organization.
The Clara Lionel Foundation was founded by Ms. Fenty in 2012 in honor of her grandparents, and thankfully has become a huge part of her life as she continues to generously give back to bajan communities. The mission of the foundation is to improve the quality of life for communities in Barbados and on a global level, while specifically focusing on health, education, arts and culture.
As if you didn’t love Rih Rih enough, the 27-year-old boss is on a mission this year to host another successful ball for her organization in hopes to raise awareness and get the attention of more investors. Last year Rihanna raised $2 million, including her donations, for CLF―funds that were used to purchase two new state-of-the-art pieces of equipment for the Clara Braithwaite Center for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) in Barbados. This year, Kevin Hart is scheduled to host the evening, which will be taking place at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, C.A.
