Any babies after ’95 will probably never understand the difference between the two aunt Viv’s, Why John Witherspoon will always be remembered as pops, or why Tia and Tamara Mowry wanted Roger to “go home.” Television was more than a leisure activity for us when we were younger. The content of the shows were both hilarious and relatable. Now, television is bombarded with reality television shows and dry humor.
The 80’s and 90’s fostered some of the first shows centered around relatable families, starring all-black cast members. Although such shows are still aired, there’s nothing like a new episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-air. It’s throw back thursday and we’ve decided to dedicate this day to some of our favorite television comedies that we grew up on. Scroll through the pages to check out the familiar families.
