Terrence J came a long way from hosting 106 & Park on BET. The E! news reporter and now actor is not only advancing in his career, but he is making sure to give back to the foundation from which he came. On behalf of the Journalism and Communications department at North Carolina A&T State University, April 24th was declared “Terrence J Day.” A great honor to the on-screen host, since it was his Alma Mater.
In a heartfelt speech, Terrence expressed his gratitude for the program that educated him and how humbled he was to be able to give back to such a great program:
“I am truly humbled to return to my alma mater and be in a position to give back to the same department and University that helped steer me on this incredibly rewarding career path. I’m inspired by the great work that NBCUniversal has contributed to N.C. A&T State and I am thankful to be able to work together with them on these important programs,” remarked Jenkins.
With the help of NBC’s $50,000 donation, Terrence J was able to donate $100,000 to contribute to the growth of a program that immensely affected his current career. Check out some photos from the ceremony below.
