Following his debut acting career in Dope, Shameik Moore has landed himself in the Hollywood spotlight with his new role as Shaolin Fantastic.
In the Netflix hit series The Get Down, Moore plays this super dope DJ from the South Bronx who is only in the beginning stages of his training to be the greatest DJ in all 5 boroughs and on his journey he links up with a group of young teens who explore their passion for the culture of hip hop as well.
Following the release of the series back in August, the show received a lot of buzz and served as the scripted series to the life of hip hop. Some have even compared the impact of the storyline and use of young teens to the final season of HBO’s The Wire.
But, the breakout shinning star of this series is definitely Moore. Among the cast he serves as the most familiar face due to his leading role in Dope but, he didn’t lean on his previous role as Malcolm to gain this traction. His use of other creative talents is what also propels him to stardom.
His swaggy dance moves and vocal abilities is what makes him a stand alone talent in Hollywood. Moore displays his many talents via social media and has gained quit a fan base. And just recently graced the cover of Status Magazine and listed as one of Hollywood Reporter up-and-comers.
So, it is safe to say with The Get Down gearing up for their second half of season 1 and Moore dishing out great music, he is one of Hollywoods shining young stars.
