Last night, the ladies of the Women Entertainment Empowerment Network Academy program made their final testaments as undergraduates and became official WEEN alumnus. WEEN Academy is a 4-week program that trains young women between the ages of 18-22 who are interested in pursuing a career in entertainment. The courses help the selected women adopt the proper skills and essential tools that they need to move forward as professionals in the multifaceted entertainment business. Their curriculum covers branding, on-air talent, philanthropy, event planning, artist management, self-esteem and entrepreneurship. WEEN Academy has created a sisterhood of young women with entrepreneurial minds who are fearlessly entering the business industry as trained professionals.
Founded by Valeisha Butterfield and directed by Jazmyn Gilliard, WEEN Academy is an organization built by women and for the support of fellow women who are changing the status quo of the male-dominant entertainment industry. WEEN definitely gets a #PYNKGirlApproved stamp for its devotion to the female community, its dedication to giving back to the youth, and its desire to create an outlet that motivates young minds and encourages the newer generations to dream big.
Congratulations to the 2015 graduates of WEEN Academy!
