Here it is just a few days before President-Elect Donald Trump will be sworn into office, many like myself are wondering, where do we go from here? Songs like, Marvin Gaye‘s “What’s Going On,” Frankie Beverly‘s “We Are One,” and so many more my brothers and sisters come to mind. We have to find a way and war is not the answer! For a while and even still, we wonder are we free? With all the police brutality against us last year and even the violence we display on one another, has to stop permanently, for once let’s love one another as a people, a nation, and as one. We all put our pants on one leg at a time and have blood running through our veins. The only difference is our roots, the color of our skin, our souls, and moral values. Once and for all, we have to stop fighting each other and show some respect, multi-cultural and within the same culture and ethnicity. It has to stop and on this day, Martin Luther King Jr.‘s celebrated birthday, this is an honor and reminder to the people of every community that I’m sure he would approve. It starts with us. Take a listen to Dr. King’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech right here today and feel the power. As I’m writing today, there is gospel playing in the background on The Steve Harvey Morning Show and it is amazing. Today is about showing thanks for his sacrifices for us to be in the place that we’re in today. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legendary speech was made publicly during the Civil Rights March on Washington for jobs and freedom on August 28, 1963.
“I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.”
