Meet the Black Woman Who’s Revolutionizing Skin Care with Her K-Beauty Brand for People of Color

KoKo Rose Beauty is the first black owned K-Beauty skin care brand! Founder, Charlo “Koko” Greene, spent years traveling to Korea researching and working with beauty chemists to create a K-beauty line that’s beneficial to people with melanated skin. A long time sufferer of acne the founder has found a way to help others have healthy and beautiful skin while continuing to be a serial entrepreneur and businesswoman.

After being asked ‘what’s wrong with your face’ by a high school crush and made to feel insecure about her skin, Charlo “KoKo” Greene suffered a lack of confidence for years. Throughout adulthood she continued to struggle with acne and was ultimately led on a personal journey to find better skincare.

Koko became obsessed with understanding skincare and she soon developed a keen appreciation for K-Beauty. She was so passionate, she traveled to South Korea multiple times, spending months at a time. Her extensive research led her to create products specifically engineered for skin with melanin, focusing specifically on the PH balance and being 100% clean! The brand’s commitment to quality skincare in unwavering. Koko says, “We will eventually force the entire skincare industry to level up and respect the differences that make melanin-rich skin unique when it comes to black and brown skincare.”
